Health Checkup

We make it easy to check the health of files stored with cloud providers. Our health checkup services let you verify a short list of items or an entire set of content, and it also generates comparative reports. They make it easy to see that uploads have happened flawlessly, and they also make it easy to stop “bit rot” – the annoying habit files have of changing over time all by themselves.

Our service verifies the integrity of an entire space, or a list of items, by collecting the content checksum values for each item from the underlying storage provider, streaming through each item while recalculating their checksums, and comparing the two listings. The service then generates a report for the space or list that compares both the stored checksum values from the storage provider as well as the computed checksum values. We also offer a health checkup service for spaces larger than 1 terabyte. This service uses an Amazon Hadoop cluster to determine checksums for all content items in any particular space. And if that’s not enough, we give you several other options to customize our health checkup services, too.
